Standard 03-11-2014

Another day of ISTEP tomorrow, another homework free evening tonight.  Enjoy!

In class things kept moving forward.  We took a good look at suspense today, the movie version.  Our two clips from Monsters, Inc. and The Bourne Legacy  allowed us to identify a bevy of ways actors and directors create suspense from the standard uses of darkness and music to the less obvious uses of dramatic irony and actual first person perspective.  Good work today.

Tomorrow we will see how writers do the same thing.  Do they also use darkness?  dramatic irony? first person perspective?  Can't wait to find out!

Write well on ISTEP tomorrow! Here are a few reminders as you approach the test.

-read the prompt twice
-highlight the specific expectations
-take the time to do some pre-writing
-have an introduction
-support whatever you write with evidence
-organize logically
-use some fancy words and punctuation (Hello, semi-colon!)
-have a conclusion
-fill all or almost all of the lines
-proofread
-write legibly

See you soon.
