Standard 03-12-2014

I really thought we would have jumped into the story today, but I guess the shortened class period and the suspense discussion  had other plans.  No worries.  We will read "The Elevator" tomorrow and discover how the writer builds suspense.  Based on the title of the story alone, you have already hypothesized several ways he might use some of the techniques we have mentioned in class.  I'll guarantee you one thing; it is suspenseful.

Speaking of suspense, I like how we added foreshadowing, closing the gap, and the unknown to our suspense technique list.  Look for these and the other ones we have discussed as you read the story tomorrow.

See you soon.
