We seemed to pick up the parallel structure pretty quickly today.  Good job.  The irony?  That was a different story.  Better go back and revisit that material.  As I said today, there will be an assessment coming soon over both parallel structure and irony.  Will you be prepared?

Big in class timed writing paper coming tomorrow.  You need to have finished reading "The Hitchhiker" so you can be prepared.  On top of that I would take notes on the suspense you see throughout the text.  That way you won't have to be looking for the material as you write the paper.  Any notes you take today can be used tomorrow for the timed writing.  Here's the prompt again.

We have read about suspense. We have discussed suspense. We have analyzed what we have read for suspense. Now it is time for you to do it on your own. You recently read “The Hitchhiker” play written by Lucille Fletcher. It is packed with suspense. Your task is to write an essay, with an opening and a closing, that explains how Fletcher creates suspense in her story.  Be specific and use examples and quotes fromthe text for your support.

See you soon.
